Chanterelle String Quartet at St James Church

Another day another concert. This time the ‘Chanterelle String Quartet’ at St James Church. The quartet are members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and I have had the pleasure of seeing them already this year as part of the ‘Cocktail Hour’ Series in the Utzon room at the Operahouse. Today they played ‘Three Idylls’ and ‘Sir Roger de Coverley’ by Frank Bridge. I had never heard Frank Bridge’s music before. I really enjoyed the texture and the beautiful strong parts for the cello and viola. The next piece was Fandango by Luigi Boccherini arr Cherniavsky. It really sounded like what a fandango should. Another beautiful concert I’m loving the variety in my life at the moment.
