June 2021 Newsletter

June 2021

Yes, I’m running a bit late. I forgot until earlier in the week and haven’t had the time or been inspired to write since. But here I am now on the couch with teddies, blankies and V8s on the tele with it raining outside. So here is a very brief newsletter for June full of some cool things that I’ve seen or have happened.

Elton John Tribute Concert

iHeartRADIO presented an icon award to Elton John at the end of May. In celebration, there was an amazing medley. It was put together by the inspiring bass player Tal Wilkenfeld and featured H.E.R., Brandi Carlile and Demi Lovato.

Watercolour collection

I came across this article on the dometika website. It links to Watercolour World. An amazing site that has thousands of watercolours pre-1900. I’m loving the different styles and topics.

Archibald Prize 2021

So we made it to the Archibalds before Sydney went into lockdown. It is always interesting to go to. This year my favourite was Fozzy by Julian Meagher.

Music

I forgot to share my Spotify Autumn Playlist last month and now we are a month into the winter one. Check them out to listen to the new music I’m listening to this season.

Quote for the month

If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present… gratefully.― Maya Angelou

Personal Update

Kitchen

It is coming along nicely. It should be finished very soon. The plumber finished today and the electricians come on Monday. It looks spectacular and I am extremely happy with it. Photos next month once it is finished.

New Job

I started, eventually, at Ausgrid again. I’ve been away for 5 years. It is a 6-month contract. It has been quite intense being back there. I’m not sure about it all. It is as it was. This is not great but at least it is for a fixed time.

Sewing

2 new tops and 2 pairs of pants. I have been in an experimental mood. I am in search of a pattern for a pair of pants that fit. I’ve also been trying out different top patterns.

The guinea pigs are well and very very cute. Anyway, that will do for the month. More exciting things for July. I’ve done a pattern test, the kitchen will be finished and I might have finished my bedhead as well.
